Zippers, Vinyl, & Bags Workshop    Supply List

 

For each bag, one side should be of light color as it will be the inside of the bag. The other side (the outside of the bag) can be ANY color, light, medium, or dark. 

 

The listed size of the four (4) pieces of pre-quilted fabric is not written in stone. The actual size brought to the workshop may vary 1” in either or both directions

 

Supply list

 

1 – Pre-quilted place mat – 19” x 14” non-directional fabric preferred. (Either purchase a pre-quilted place mat or make a 19” x 14” pre-quilted piece)

1 – 2 ½” x Width of fabric to match or contrast the outside of the pre-quilted place mat.  PRE-IRON this piece, wrong sides together- lengthwise as it will be used as binding.

1 - Pre-quilted piece –11” x 15” - can be directional or non-directional fabric

1 – 2 ½” x 4” piece of fabric to match or contrast the outside of the 11” x 15” piece

PRE-IRON this piece, wrong sides together- lengthwise 

1 - Pre quilted piece– 9” x 12” – non-directional fabric preferred

1 – Pre-quilted piece – 9” x 12” - non-directional fabric preferred (yes, it is listed twice because two different bags will be created and the same size is given just for convenience purposes) 

•Working sewing machine with power cord & foot pedal

•Size 90 Needle

•Thread – can be any color – matching, contrast, or clashing

•All-purpose sewing foot. (Can also bring, ¼” top stitch foot, zipper foot or other fancy feet)

•Rotary cutter (with sharp rotary blade)

•Cutting mat (12” x 12” or larger) – The mat will be used to square the bag blocks – If you do not possess a small cutting mat, not to worry, there’s no need to purchase one as others attending will be more than happy to share their cutting mat

•18” x 3” Ruler for squaring bag blocks – actually any ruler 12” or longer will work

•Chalk or marking pen / pencil

•Tweezers (can be serger tweezers, hemostats, or cosmetic tweezers)

•Other basic sewing tools that you feel are necessary for a successful workshop

Cancellation policy

The Education Chair has the discretion to refund members' fees up to 50% of the total cost, or issue a credit for up to 50% of the total cost toward a future workshop  if an attendee becomes ill or has an emergency which does not allow attendance after payment has been made.

A full refud/credit may be issued up to two (2) weeks prior to the stated payment deadline for educational workshops.
